beastmasterbl8ordie Movie Review: Food Inc………

with one comment

We have recently subscribed to Netflix and are loving the watch instantly feature….especially since all we have is the iMac and not a TV.  This afternoon after I had given Buddy a bath we sat down and uploaded Food Inc.  While I feel I am a little picky when it comes to documentaries, I found Food Inc.  to be an amazing one.  For the past few years I have tried to eat as organically as my wallet allows and supported the local farmers’ market during the summer months along with being married to a vegetarian and trying to live as environmentally friendly as possible.  What surprised me most about Food Inc. is that it barely touch on the environmental side of things.  To sum up the things I will try to paraphrase a quote from one of the farmers that was interviewed that I feel is an important reason to watch the movie and then leave with a different approach on what you support and why; he said ” A culture that just uses a pig as a pile of protoplasmic inanimate structure, to be manipulated by whatever creative design the human can foist on that critter, will probably view individuals within its community, and other cultures in the community of nations, with the same type of disdain and disrespect and controlling type mentalities..“.  That quote is shown through the way large corporations control everything from the treatment of animals to the treatment of their suppliers and all the hiddens that are in between.  Check it out……

  1. …Have Netflix, love instant watch, seen the movie and completely agree. Its a monopoly in a sense. I mean, they ARE different companies, but they all operate in the same manner. That quote really does sum up the movie, great post Billy.
