Short shorts atop Angel's Landing

After multiple “reply all” email went back and forth between myself and 8 others, the original plan of spending the weekend in Causey cliff jumping and camping fell through.  Other obligations and prior commitments slimmed our group down to four; myself, Megan, Carrie and Gard.  The only plan was to meet at 5:37pm on Friday and Megan & Carrie’s house with our camping stuff and we would head south to get out of the rain (we thought).  Everything was on schedule and after we had prepared our tinfoil dinners we set off for southern Utah.  We still hadn’t decided on whether we were going to end up in Bryce Canyon or keep going and get down to Zions.  About an hour and a half south on I-15 we decided on Zions based on the weather forecast.  For the next 20 hours or so we laughed, twisted, turned, changed in the bushes, eat out of our hands, hiked up, hiked down, rain from the rain, enjoyed the sun, waded, hiked thru water, hiked in the rain again and laughed some more making it the a great 2 day adventure.  The laughs started when the reference to a series of signs I saw in SLC came up, mixed with a snake biting my eye ball, smoking a cigar and carrying an STD and the movie Snakes On A Plane.  We won’t get into details.  We hiked Angels Landing to see the incredible views, and waded up the chilly narrows (photos to come soon).

To be continued…………………………
